Registration for the 2014 Boston Marathon opens on Monday, September 9, 2013 at 10:00AM (ET) for those Qualifiers who have met the qualifying standard by 20 minutes, 00 seconds or faster.

If space remains, then registration will open on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 10:00AM (ET) for Qualifiers who have met the qualifying standard by 10 minutes, 00 seconds or faster.

If space remains, then registration will open on Friday, September 13, 2013 at 10:00AM (ET) for Qualifiers who have met the qualifying standard by 5 minutes, 00 seconds or faster.  Registration will remain open until Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 10:00PM (ET).

Then, if space remains, registration will re-open on Monday, September 16, 2013 at 10:00AM (ET) for Qualifiers who have met the qualifying standard [by any amount of time], and registration will remain open through Friday, September 20, 2013 at 5:00PM (ET).

If space remains after this initial two-week period, then on Monday, September 23, 2013 at 10:00AM (ET) registration will re-open to anyone who meets the qualifying standards on a first come, first served basis. At that point, registration will remain open until the maximum field size is reached.

Please be aware that as the B.A.A. receives application submissions for the 2014 Boston Marathon, work continues on changes which will be evident and in effect at the event.

The 2014 Boston Marathon will be a special event for the City of Boston and all of the municipalities along the course, as well as the sport. The B.A.A. and all involved with producing the event and staging the race are committed to retaining the characteristics which make the Boston Marathon unique. As we seek to do this, official entrants (registered participants), volunteers and spectators may be asked for additional cooperation in certain areas, including transportation, baggage and other logistics.

Among the changes, it is anticipated participants will be asked to submit to security checks of their personal belongings.  Participants may be asked to significantly reduce, or eliminate, the belongings that they carry with them on the transportation provided by the B.A.A. and into race areas.

Participants should be prepared for the possibility that the checking and pick-up of personal belongings will not be allowed.

Additional details will be forthcoming and directly communicated to official participants by email and as updates to the official race web site (www.baa.org) as decisions are made. Information will be made available to participants with ample time for individual planning.
