Greetings Marathoners!
Still digging out but here are a few thoughts:
Idea for T-Shirt Slogan- "I ran the Steamtown Marathon and all I got was this lousy stabbing pain in my quads!" That excrutiating pain you are feeling is to be expected and will dissipate in just three to six months. Suggest you consider going down stairs on your butt (we call that blooping in my house). Note: blooping may be frowned upon at work.
Steamtown Merchandise - If you had very low
expectations of Steamtown but are now saying, "Rats! I should have
bought some spiffy race clothing at the Expo," you may be in luck. There

Photos - By around Wednesday, you can view photos of your handsome selves here: http://www.runphotos.
Bandit Photographer - most races only have to worry about bandit runners. Steamtown had a bandit photographer yesterday. Please be advised that we did not endorse or authorize any other photographer to take photos at our race. We did not give anyone other than runphotos.com permission to use our copyrighted trademark. We respectfully request that you limit your photo purchases to runphotos.com.
Age Group Awards - unclaimed age group and weight class plaques are being held hostage in Race Director Bill King's trunk. He will mail them to all winners. Please be patient. Note: as stated in a previous e-mail, all awards are determined by actual place of finish (gun time), not by chip time.
Unclaimed Clothing Bags - Committee member and trustworthy National Park Service Ranger Pat McKnight has all unclaimed clothing bags. He made sure that none contained wallets, jewels, infants, etc... (none did). He did however, remove squished hard boiled eggs out of one of them. Send an e-mail to racecommittee@hotmail.com and Pat will get your bag to you. Note: he has just been called to the gulf to assist on a flood cleanup and will be out for two weeks so please be patient.
Race Results - Keep sending in mistakes and omissions to our race results. We will ask Mark Courtney of runhigh.com to fix them.
Stats - 3,000 runners entered. By Saturday, 530 of you had notified us that you were officially withdrawing (thank you). On race day, only 1,970 runners crossed the starting line. That means that 500 of you just flat out did not show up. We ordered and paid for 12 buses that we did not use. That is money that could have been donated to St. Joseph's Center. I am tired and cranky, but I'm just saying...
